Creating your first product on IndieStand is quick, clean, and creator-friendly. In just a few steps, you'll go from a blank page to a fully published digital product with images, variants, and file downloads ready for your customers.
Let's walk through it together.
1. Start from the Products Page
Head to App → Products and hit the pink New Product button on the top right.
This opens the product editor, where you'll see three tabs:
- Details
- Media
- Variants & Files
You'll fill these out in order.
2. Fill Out the Product Details
This is the foundation of your listing.
Product Title
Give your product a clear, descriptive title (example: "PixelSmith Pro").
You can change it anytime — your storefront updates automatically.
URL Slug
IndieStand creates a clean slug for you, but you can customize it if you prefer.
Your product page will follow this pattern:
https://yourstore.indiestand.com/products/your-product-slug
Short Description
A quick, one-sentence pitch. This appears on product cards and helps customers understand what you're offering at a glance.
Full Description
This is where you tell your story.
You can format text with bold, italic, lists, and links using Markdown.
Use this space to explain what's inside, who it's for, and why it's valuable.
Price & Currency
Set the price you want to charge — or set it to 0 if you want to offer a free product.
Free products let customers claim a download by entering their email.
Refund Period
You can keep your store's default refund period or override it for this specific product.
Choose from "None," "7 days," "14 days," or "30 days."
Once the basics look good, move on to Media.
3. Add Your Media
Your media makes your product visually stand out.
Cover Image
This is the main preview image shown on the storefront.
Drag and drop or click to upload a PNG, JPG, or WEBP (up to 2MB).
Gallery Images (Optional)
Add up to 10 screenshots or visuals.
These appear on the product page as additional previews, and are especially useful for:
- UI kits
- 3D models
- Plugins
- Templates
- Game assets
When your visuals are in place, head to Variants & Files.
4. Create Variants & Upload Files
Variants let you offer different versions of the same product — for example:
- Standard
- Pro
- Ultimate Edition
Or different licensing tiers like:
- Personal use license
- Commercial use license
- Extended license
Every product begins with a Default variant.
Variant Visibility (Important)
A variant becomes visible on your storefront only when:
- It is not archived, and
- It has at least one uploaded file
If a variant has no files uploaded or has been archived, it will remain private and will not appear on your store.
This prevents customers from buying a version that isn't ready yet.
Default Variant (Recommended Badge)
The default variant is:
- Preselected when a customer opens your product page
- Marked with a Recommended badge
This helps guide customers toward the version you prefer them to choose.
Variant Pricing
Each variant can:
- Use the base price defined in the Details tab, or
- Override it with its own custom price
You can mix paid and free variants if that fits your product — for example, offering a free “Lite” version and a paid “Pro” version.
Uploading Files
Each variant can have its own downloadable files.
This allows you to do things like:
- Standard → 1 file
- Pro → multiple files
- Bundle → an entire collection of assets
Upload ZIPs, PDFs, PSDs, videos — anything up to 4GB per file.
Customers only receive the files for the variant they purchase.
IndieStand automatically handles secure delivery, permissions, and download links.
5. Save & Publish
When everything looks good:
- Switch any variants from Private to Active
- Make sure you've added at least one file to each active variant
- Hit the green Publish button at the top right
Your product immediately goes live on your storefront.
6. How Pricing Appears on Your Store
IndieStand automatically chooses the clearest way to present pricing:
- If you have one paid variant → the card shows the price
- If you have multiple paid variants → the card shows "From €X.XX" (the cheapest active variant)
- If the product is free → it's shown as Free
This keeps your storefront simple and easy for customers to understand.
