Your storefront is the face of your IndieStand presence — it’s where customers discover your products, read your story, and make purchases. IndieStand makes it easy to customize your store using themes, brand settings, and live previewing tools so you can create a shopping experience that feels uniquely yours.
Let’s walk through how to customize and activate your storefront theme.
1. Start from the Themes Page
Head to App → Themes.
When you first create an IndieStand account, you’re automatically assigned a default theme.
From the Themes page, you can:
- Browse available themes
- Install new themes
- Customize theme settings
- Activate the one you want your customers to see
Here’s what the Themes page looks like:

Each theme includes:
- A visual preview
- A short description
- Version information
- Buttons to Install, Activate, and Customize
You can install multiple themes and switch between them anytime — you’re never locked in.
2. Install & Customize a Theme
Click Install on any theme you want to try.
Once installed, it becomes available for configuration.
Click Customize to open the theme editor, where you’ll find:
- General settings (fonts, navigation links, spotlight product, content width)
- Hero options (headlines, layout, imagery)
- Description or preview sections (depending on theme)
- More Products areas, footers, and other theme-specific features
The left side of the screen contains all configuration panels.
The right side shows your live preview.
Here’s an example of the customization interface:

3. Use the Live Preview
As you tweak your theme, you’ll see changes update in real time.
You can:
- Switch between Desktop, Tablet, and Mobile preview modes
- Resize the preview
- Refresh or reset the preview
- View how your storefront looks in Full HD, Laptop, or Mobile dimensions
This helps you design confidently without blindly guessing how your store will look.
All previews are private — customers never see the theme until you activate it.
4. Configure Theme Settings
Each theme comes with its own unique features, but all themes share a few core settings:
General
- Font family
- Spotlight product (for themes like Spotlight)
- Navigation links
- Content width
Hero Section
Depending on the theme, you can configure:
- Headline
- Subheadline
- Layout (left, centered)
- Background image or product image style
- Primary/secondary CTAs
Description & Sections
Some themes let you adjust:
- Description preview length
- Read-more link behaviour
- Trust badges
- Additional product sections (grids, carousels, etc.)
Colors, Branding & Footer
Branding elements (logo, colors, social links, footer text) are shared across themes and managed from the Store → Branding section.
Themes inherit those settings automatically.
5. Activate Your Theme
When your design looks good:
- Click Save in the top right of the Customizer
- Return to the Themes page
- Press Activate on your chosen theme
Once activated, your live storefront immediately updates to use the new theme — no publishing delay, no downtime.
You can switch themes whenever you like without losing your configuration.
Every installed theme remembers its own settings.
6. Tips for a Great Storefront
A few quick suggestions:
- Pick a theme that fits the type of products you sell
- Use high-quality images for your products
- Keep navigation simple and minimal
- Use clear CTAs (“Buy Now”, “View Details”)
- Preview your store on both mobile and desktop before activating
- Use trust badges or short selling points to build confidence
